"The Last Letter"

Genre: Contemporary Romance / Slow Burn

Premise:

After the sudden passing of her grandmother, 28-year-old book restorer Clara Monroe inherits an old countryside cottage in Vermont—along with a box of unsent love letters addressed to a man she's never heard of: Elias Granger. As she begins restoring the home and uncovering her grandmother’s hidden past, she decides to find this mysterious man and deliver the letters herself.

But when Clara tracks down Elias, she finds not the old flame she expected, but his grandson—Nathan Granger, a brooding, emotionally guarded carpenter who wants nothing to do with the letters or Clara’s quest.

Clara stays in town, determined to finish restoring the cottage and uncover the truth about the decades-long romance that never was. As she and Nathan slowly begin to connect—brought together by late-night conversations, shared grief, and unexpected laughter—Clara starts to wonder if some love stories are meant to begin where others ended.

Themes:

  • Love across generations

  • Healing through connection

  • The idea that timing is everything—but sometimes, love finds its way anyway

Twist: One of the letters reveals a secret that could change the way both Clara and Nathan see their families—and themselves.
